Kristin Smith
Executive Director
Kristin currently resides with her husband Gerard and daughter Juliana in Western, MA. She enjoys her morning coffee (she wouldn’t survive without it), family hikes, movies, card games, long walks on the beach, and, most of all, watching her daughter play softball. She spends her “spare” time thinking up ways to grow her agency to support even more new parents.
In 2009, Kristin trained to be a birth & postpartum doula with Warm Welcome Birth Services. She attended 112 births and supported over 200 families and 39 sets of twins with postpartum and overnight newborn care. Her private practice grew quickly which spurred Kristin to launch Nightingale Night Nurses – Boston’s Premier Overnight Newborn Care Agency. Through her company, she’s built a team of experienced Postpartum Doulas, Newborn Care Specialists and RN’s and LPN’s to support new and growing families looking for Overnight Newborn Care, Sleep Training and 24 Hour Care.
After the birth of her daughter, Kristin learned firsthand how raw and tender the postpartum experience is and how critical it is for new moms to have a reliable support system. It was then she decided to blend her strengths as both nanny and mother to support new parents during birth and the postpartum period.
In 2009, Kristin trained to be a birth & postpartum doula with Warm Welcome Birth Services. She attended 112 births and supported over 200 families and 51 sets of twins with postpartum and overnight newborn care. Her private practice grew quickly which spurred Kristin to launch Nightingale Night Nurses – A Premier Overnight Newborn Care Agency. Through her company, she’s built a team of experienced Postpartum Doulas, Newborn Care Specialists and RN’s and LPN’s to support new and growing families looking for Overnight Newborn Care, Sleep Training and 24 Hour Care.
As her team grew, Kristin expanded the service menu to include sleep training, 24/7 care, parent, and nanny hiring. Rather than slotting clients into pre-determined packages, Kristin personally crafts individualized care plans on a client to client basis. Each family is then matched with their Nightingale - not solely based on location and availability, but based on a multitude of personal and personality factors. Every member of Nightingale is hand-picked with experience, training and goals that match the company’s mission.
Before she founded Nightingale Nurses, Kristin Smith-Pilorge began her career as a professional nanny working with over a dozen children. In 2008, Family Helpers awarded her with the Nanny of The Year Award - and in 2009, life got even more exciting when ABC’s successful TV series America’s Supernanny selected Kristin as one of their final candidates to appear on the show out of thousands of other nominees.
